DNB Youth Mentorship Program – Update from Wellington

Chef D’Equipe, Tiffany Dalton shares experiences of the first two days of the DNB Youth Mentorship program being held in Wellington, Florida:

“Maggie, Alyssa, Sydney and Martha arrived in Wellington yesterday afternoon and were immersed into the excitement right away. They watched the Grand Prix 3* and explored the show grounds at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival.
Today, the day began with watching and judging the young rider team test. Afterwards, Lisa Von Martles took everyone to Palm Beach Equine Center and gave an amazing tour of the facility. The girls got to see some of the horses in recovery from various procedures, and were lucky enough to catch Megan Lane schooling her horse Denver. She gave lots of great advice and talked about what it takes to get to that level of competition and training.
Next, the girls met Denielle Gallagher at the national barn where they were exposed to what life is like as a groom / working student. They were put right to work, and assisted in the warm up, cleaned stalls, water buckets and bedded down the horses.
The following activity led the girls to meet with Joan McCartney to discuss judging and what the judges look for in the Young Rider and Prix St. George tests. She was very motivational and encouraging. In between meeting with the mentors, the girls have been able to spend their time in the Global Dressage tent where they are able to watch the CDI classes”.

What an amazing first couple of days in Wellington! We can’t wait to hear more! ☺
