Funding Criteria

In-Province Funding

To be eligible for the following award the riders and horse owners must be current DNB members. Also, the horse/rider combinations must have attended a minimum of two New Brunswick provincially sanctioned, bronze or gold dressage competitions within the current year.

This $100 award is to be awarded to a maximum of 10 horse/rider combinations. If more than 10 horse/rider combinations qualify for funding, a draw for the winners will take place during the DNB annual awards banquet, this will be awarded to those members in attendance at the banquet who qualify. Each eligible rider’s name will be entered once for each show in which they competed.

Out-of-Maritimes Funding

To be eligible for the following award the riders and horse owners must be current DNB members. Also, the horse/rider combinations must have attended a minimum of two New Brunswick gold dressage competitions within the current year.

This $100 award is to be presented to a maximum of 10 horse/rider combinations that have attended a gold competition outside of the Maritimes. If more than 10 horse/rider combinations qualify for funding a draw for the winners will take place during the DNB annual awards banquet, this will be awarded to those members in attendance at the banquet who qualify. Each eligible rider’s name will be entered once

Elite Athlete Funding

Eligibility Criteria:
This funding will be awarded to a rider chosen to represent Canada in dressage – for example NAYC, Pan Ams, CET-listed, etc.
  1. Rider must be a DNB member
  2. Preference will be given to New Brunswick residents
  3. Rider must be competing at CDI level
  4. Preference will be given to riders who have competed at a DNB show in the past 3 years.
  5. Applications will be reviewed and are subject to the approval of the DNB Board annually.

Riders must submit an application but may apply each year. Funds will be allotted based on the budget availability. This amount is variable, up to a maximum of $1000 per person. Attendance to receive this funding at the banquet is encouraged when possible.

FEI Junior and Young Rider Funding

Eligibility Criteria:
  1. Rider must be a DNB member.
  2. Rider must be a New Brunswick resident.
  3. Rider must be active with Dressage in New Brunswick. S/he must have competed at a New Brunswick competition within a recent period.
  4. Rider must have attended competition outside the Atlantic Provinces.
  5. Any application has to be approved by the DNB Board.

Riders may apply each year. Applications will be reviewed and approved by the Board annually. Funds will be allotted based on the budget availability. This amount is variable, up to a maximum of $500.
