Dressage New Brunswick Year-End Awards Criteria

DNB Horse Award (Stall Plaque)

To be eligible for the following award the riders and horse owners must be current DNB members.

This award recognizes the achievements horse and rider combinations. The scores for this award can be accumulated from 2010 onward. A minimum of three scores must be obtained from a gold competition in New Brunswick. One score may be from any out of province gold competition. Also, three out of the four scores must be obtained from different judges. Each plaque can only be received once per horse and rider combination (example: Training Level). The following scores must be achieved:

  • Walk/Trot to First Level – 4 scores of 63%
  • Second Level and above – 4 Scores of 60%

To qualify riders will be responsible for submitting a Stall Plaque Application Form with photocopies or emailing scanned copies of the test sheets with their qualifying scores to the DNB email (dressagenb@gmail.com). The application is available from the link below and must be submitted within 5 days following the last DNB show of the season.

DNB Rider Award (Lapel Pin)

To be eligible for the following award the riders must be current DNB members.

This award recognizes the achievements of the rider competing in the gold shows. The scores for this award can be accumulated from 2008 onward. Each lapel pin can only be received once per rider. The following scores must be achieved:

Intermediate 4 scores@ 60% or more 2
Grand Prix 4 scores@ 60% or more 2

To qualify riders will be responsible for submitting a Lapel Pin Application Form with documentation, such as photocopied or scanned test sheets or EC scores listings to the DNB email (dressagenb@gmail.com). The application is available from the link below and must be submitted within 5 days following the last DNB show of the season.

DNB Junior Sports Person Award

To be eligible for the following award the riders and horse owners must be current DNB members. Also the horse/rider combinations must have attended a minimum of two New Brunswick dressage competitions within the current year.

The award is to be presented to a Junior DNB member who has shown outstanding sportsmanship within the current year.


DNB Adult Sports Person Award

To be eligible for the following award the riders and horse owners must be current DNB members. Also the horse/rider combinations must have attended a minimum of two New Brunswick dressage competitions within the current year.

The award is to be presented to an Adult DNB member who has shown outstanding sportsmanship within the current year.


Lieutenant Colonel James Kupkee Award

To be eligible for the following award the riders and horse owners must be current DNB members. Also the horse/rider combinations must have attended a minimum of two New Brunswick dressage competitions within the current year.

The award is to be awarded to a horse/rider combination that has had an outstanding show season within the current year.


James Mortimer Award

To be eligible for the following awards the person does not have to be a DNB member.

The award is to be presented to someone who has done an outstanding job of volunteering their time to help promote the sport of dressage in NB within the current year.


NSO/PTSO Awards Criteria

Equestrian Canada Gold Year End Awards

To be eligible for the following award horse/rider combinations must have attended a minimum of two gold dressage competitions within New Brunswick, including the provincial championships, within the current year. Each horse/rider combination will average the top score from the NB provincial championships and the top score from a second gold competition within New Brunswick. The champions and reserve champions for each level and division (i.e First Level Junior) are calculated based on the highest and second highest average scores. In the event of a tie the single highest championship score will be the tiebreaker.

NBEA Bronze Year End Awards

To be eligible for the following award horse/rider combinations must have attended a minimum of two New Brunswick bronze dressage competitions within the current year. Each horse/rider combination will average the top two scores from two different bronze competitions within New Brunswick. The champions and reserve champions for each level and division (i.e First Level Junior) are calculated based on the highest and second highest average scores. In the event of a tie the single highest score will be the tiebreaker.

NBEA Provincially Sanctioned Year End Awards

To be eligible for the following award horse/rider combinations must have attended a minimum of two New Brunswick provincially sanctioned dressage competitions within the current year. Each horse/rider combination will average the top two scores from two different provincially sanctioned competitions within New Brunswick. The champions and reserve champions for each level and division (i.e First Level Junior) are calculated based on the highest and second highest average scores. In the event of a tie the single highest score will be the tiebreaker.

* Riders are not required to submit scores for NSO or PTSO awards.
