DNB 1 Show Cancelled

In the best interests of the health of our horses, Dressage New Brunswick has decided to cancel the Bronze/Gold Show #1 May 25 – 27th at the PLP in Sussex.

We are certain of cases of strangles on PEI, one confirmed case in the greater Sussex area, and at least one stable in quarantine. Because of the extremely contagious nature of this disease, we feel it prudent to minimize travel and contact among horses from varied locations at this time.

This decision was not made lightly. After long and careful deliberation, the DNB Board has voted unanimously to cancel. We have been waiting on an official announcement from the provincial veterinary office, but with the deadline for close of entries only a day away, we needed to make the decision now. Thank you to those of you who have been patiently waiting for word.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our competitors, but we believe everyone will understand the importance of putting our horses’ health and safety first.

Any cheques received for May entries will be shredded and etransfers will be declined. We will hold on to paperwork in case people would like to enter the July competition.

If you have any questions, please let us know. We hope to see you all in July.
